1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when registering: name, email, academic details (department, CGPA, batch), skills, experience, projects, certifications, and social links. We also collect usage data such as page views and search queries to improve the Platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to: display your public profile to recruiters and industry partners (based on your visibility settings); match you with relevant opportunities; generate your employability score; send notifications about applications, events, and connections; and improve the Platform.
3. Profile Visibility
You control who sees your profile through your Privacy settings: Public (visible to all including Google), Industry Only (visible to logged-in recruiters), University Only (visible only to Aror University users), or Private (visible only to you). By default, profiles are Public.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share your profile data only with: verified industry partners and recruiters on the Platform (subject to your visibility settings); Aror University's Placement Office for placement tracking; and service providers who help us operate the Platform under strict confidentiality agreements.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted passwords (bcrypt), JWT authentication, HTTP-only cookies for session management, and HTTPS for all data in transit. No system is 100% secure; please keep your password confidential.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication (refresh token as HTTP-only cookie) and local storage for session state. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
7. Data Retention
Student profiles are retained for the duration of enrolment plus 5 years to support alumni features. You can request deletion of your account at any time by contacting placement@aror.edu.pk.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to: access, correct, or delete your personal data; restrict processing; change your profile visibility; and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact the Placement Office.
9. Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended for users aged 17 and above (university students). We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or a platform notification. Last updated: June 2025.
